What needs to know before buying a Neopixel Lightsaber.

Neopixel Lightsabers are becoming more and more popular, and people are excited about the features they offer. They allow for a scroll-on effect, where the power feeds from the bottom and retracts back into the hilt. The durability, brightness, and versatility of Neopixel blades are the three main reasons why people choose to pick them up.

If you want to understand every term, definition, and word associated with Neopixel Lightsabers, you should check out the Beginner's Guide that I discussed earlier. Previously, there were only in-hilt Lightsabers, but now, the Lightsabers are more advanced and programmable, which is why they are called Neopixel Lightsabers. However, the price of Neopixel Lightsabers is more costly, and people are confused about which one to buy and which company to trust. They also need to know if there is good customer service.

To help you out, we have created a website with all the information we could possibly put together. We have discussed the top 5 things to avoid when buying a Neopixel Lightsaber, and we have also listed the top 10 best Neopixel Lightsaber that you can check out.

A Neopixel Lightsaber is a type of Lightsaber that has individually addressed LED lights inside the blade to achieve many different effects, including a scrolling effect when you turn the Lightsaber on.

What to know before buying a Neopixel Lightsaber?

Versatility

Before buying a Neopixel Lightsaber, there are a few things you should consider. The first thing is versatility. Neopixel Lightsabers have programmability, which allows you to do interesting things like localized flash-on clash, color differentiation from red to blue with purples and pinks in the middle, and animations like rainbow cycling, strobe, and flame effects.

Brightness

The second thing to consider is brightness. Neopixel Lightsaber colors are brighter than traditional Tri-Cree Lightsabers, and you get the scrolling up and down effect, which is very cool. However, the light doesn't come from the hilt but is produced inside the blade, making the blades more expensive.

Shorter battery life

The third thing to consider is that Neopixel-equipped Lightsabers have shorter battery life, which is significantly shorter for a couple of reasons. Firstly, the Neopixel strips draw more power, so they drain your battery more quickly.

Secondly, the AD draws more power, and the battery will eventually get low enough that it will starve the app, causing it to crackle.

Second configuration file

One important thing to note about the Neopixel lightsaber is that any crystal shard for the saber that's equipped for Neopixel comes with a second configuration file called a config power saber. If you want to create a second SD card, you can rename the config power saber to config dot txt. By doing so, you'll have a second SD card with a 60 percent power setting. This way, you'll still have all your animations, and your saber will be as bright as or brighter than a traditional Tri-Cree saber while allowing your battery to last longer. This is particularly helpful if you won't be able to change your battery for the day.

Durability

The Neopixel Lightsaber is just as durable as a Tri-Cree saber. The blades are thin-walled 1-inch blades, which are generally mid-grade blades and suitable for most dueling. For the hardest dueling, you'll probably want to make your blade that goes for the standard blades, and for the pixel blades, all the tests have been really positive that these blades are super durable. Although you're probably paying around $150 for a blade, unless you're making it yourself, you want to make sure you're not going to crack it. These blades are suitable for most medium dueling choreography.

The Neopixel blade is a little bit heavier

One point I need to retract about the Neopixel in my original reservations about them is the weight. So, the Neopixel blade is actually a little bit heavier, but not as heavy as I originally thought it would be. In a standard saber, the point of balance is a couple of inches out from the emitter. In the case of heavy-grade Neopixel blades, that might be the case, but it's the heavy grade adding the blade rather than the Neopixel itself. They still handle fairly well, but what you're limited on in terms of use is what you dare do with it because of the technology and the extra parts or breakability of it.

Neopixels Lightsaber cost a lot

If you're considering buying a Neopixel Lightsaber, it's important to know that it generally costs a lot more than hilt LED lightsabers. This is mostly due to the complex boards inside with smooth swings, etc. If you were to duel with a Neopixel blade, the chances of malfunctioning cannot be avoided. Although a Neopixel ignition looks impressive, there's always a risk of malfunctioning, which could cause dark spots or waves that get darker towards the tip.

Malfunctioning

malfunctioning is a possibility when it comes to Neopixel Lightsabers. In real life, the dark spots or waves that may be visible are not an indication of malfunctioning, but rather a result of the actual white blade. While this may appear as an interesting effect, it can become annoying over time.

High Repairing Cost

Regarding malfunctioning, sometimes certain pixels may not work properly with specific colors, leading to dead spots or unusual coloration. Additionally, if the tube of a Neopixel Lightsaber breaks down, it can be costly to replace, with the cost of a new tube being around $70.

Despite these limitations, Neopixel Lightsabers are still quite popular due to their programmability, ignition, smooth swing, flash-on clash, flame effect, and other features. If you notice any errors in my writing or have any further questions, please let me know. May the force be with you.
